only B can find a support from the article in this sentence:

Despite the pretensions of certain of his disciples in the United States, the Russian director never intended to formulate a textbook of rigid solutions to acting problems.

Other choices might be true, but we don't have evidence for them.

The author is talking about the S's methods used and that the methods had not been documented. Hence B.
