What are Kudos? Kudos are a reflection of quality of contributions at GMATClub as perceived by GMATClub members.
Kudos can be awarded by anyone to anyone and are used to show appreciation, gratitude, or indication of value.
Kudos are awarded to both a post and a poster. (You must be logged in to see/give kudos)

What can I use Kudos for?

You can use Kudos to find the best posts on GMAT Club - we publish lists of the posts with most Kudos on the Forum Index Page as well as here: Top Forum Posts.
You can also Sort by Kudos in each forum and find the highest ranked discussions or even highest ranked posts within each thread (they are highlighted by green and yellow colors)
You can also give Kudos to others - when you click a +1 button to award Kudos, the receiver gets a notification about your award. It works much better than posting a short line saying "Thanks"
[Cool] You can use Kudos to get access to the GMAT Club tests. If you have 25 kudos, you can get full access to the gmat club tests for 3 months. Once you hit this milestone milestones, please visit this page: http://gmatclub.com/tests.

We identify the Top 10 members every month and publish the listing here.

Interpreting Kudos

Near each post, you will see the following information:

Total user's Kudos ("A" in the image below)
This post's Kudos ("B")
Kudos given to others ("C")
+1 Kudos button (you can see one on the left)

How to get more Kudos?

You can add schools and fill out your GMAT Club profile and that will net you 5 Kudos right away.
You can be helpful in the forums and respond to people's questions (any forum works but Math Forum and Verbal Forum seem to get the most)
You can create really helpful/cool/unique posts that will benefit others e.g.:
Guide to AWA - 100+ Kudos
Walkers Guide to PPT Presentations
Sentence Correction question collection

There are 2 ways to see this information: click on your profile button while browsing forum. That's this button:

- Kudos are collected when somebody clicks +1 button. If you benefit from somebody's post, do click +1, which will increase that score, both for the user and for the post.

- Only positive Kudos can be given.

- You can give only one Kudos point to a single post. After you give that point, there is no way to withdraw it or award another one. The +1 button will be removed from the posts you have awarded Kudos.

- Kudos given are usually displayed with a delay of approximately 10 minutes due to caching.

Hm.... this looks very interesting

We do have a number of the mods installed on the forum but definitely not such a variety. I guess one question is whether it is easier to re-install the board or add some mods to the existing ones.

is there any functionality that you feel would be valuable to to the user experience out of the mods listed above? (would hate to go through the pain of upgrading without a benefit)

Questions:
- What BB Codes would you like to see on the forum? They are easy to add and as long as they add value we will add them

- What do you mean by header adjustments for both styles?

Originally you could but it quickly became clear that people were more interested in taking them off than giving them, but a good point. Some posts definitely deserve that.

90 days is an approximate number of days needed to generate content worth of 50 Kudos. We might change the policy in the future, but the current terms proved effective. Do you have a suggestion? Please share what you think

The way it works is:
1. 200 posts and at least 90 days
2. 100 posts and 25 kudos (no time limit)
3. 50 Kudos (no time limit)

If you get 50 kudos in the next week (not sure how you would do it, you will get access).
However, if it is based only on posts, then there is a 90-day waiting period.
