Hi Everybody,

Well first of all... am pretty scared if I get bashed by many in the club... 'coz until now I have been looking around and seeing tough kids. So please I request even if I sound stupid take me with little sympathy.

Some what, some where down below.. the fire is on, to achieve, to reach to a solution in the darkness. Though the situation and people have been trying to pull me down in several ways. Well the my only fire, is wanting to hit GMAT with perfect (perfect is such a relative term) score...! I am planning for 14 July'12 and I have started taking small steps and with every step am getting de-motivated and dishearten. The way is too tough and I can't make it. I got to do so much and there's so many... Every morning I pull myself up saying past is past I will take down the future... and the mirror of my own mistakes, panicking wrong decision, depression is some how making me fall on my knees and the fire is burning out.
Am not sure what should I do, GMAT is my only option and only chance to fly high to leave the darkness behind. How I motivate myself... How I take that another step which will be my right step... am so confused... and so fed up feeling like a failure.

Do not be discouraged my fellow forumer. Believe in yourself. Everyday believe that you are going to achieve your target score despite any challenges and then above all study hard. Have a vision and a clear picture in mind of how bright you want your future to be and once you have that and you see the GMAT as an obstacle in your path, you will have the desire to want to clear it out. I have had some similar issues before and I also see the GMAT as a stepping stone towards a bright future for myself. Even when I do poorly on a CAT or I am struggling in remembering a concept, I do not give up, but I forge ahead and push on and tell myself that I will understand this concept or I learn from my mistakes and I WILL DO BETTER ON THE TEST DAY. Try to focus mostly on how bright you want your future to be. That can be enough motivation for you to want to clear this test.

You can do it if you put your mind to it

There is one guy whose name was eternal optimist and he score 740 after slogging for 3 years. Do something about changing your negative situation. Most of the negativity happens when we are not doing anything but feeling sorry for our self. Life can be tough these days, but you need to pick yourself up every time you fall. Fall down eight times, get up nine times. The harder the battle the sweeter the victory. Try to listen to Robin Sharma free pod casts: he is an awesome guy. You have got to find a way to motivate yourself.

Hello!

First of all, to come out asking for help in such a situation requires so much courage. i had not been able to do that in the past. So hats off to you.

Here's what worked for me.

To forget about everything that has happened in the past and put all thoughts on the how glorious the future is gonna be. The enormity of the task simply grinds you to a halt. But a journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step. break down the complex and seemingly impossible task of 760 to simple and achievable set of smaller tasks. first step, find weakest part ( Sentence correction in my case). Attack it with all the vigor of a bull dog. then move on to the next, time and distance. and so on.After gaining sufficient confidence give a couple of practice tests. see where i'm making mistakes. go through second iteration. and finally take the test, knowing very well that you're gonna kick arse. :)

that is the key. to break down this tough task into a series of simple task.

I'm taking the exam around june 28th. lets share our progress.

Great plan of attack! Take it a piece at a time - constantly reviewing but also taking small steps forward. The key is consistency.

Good luck - that's the right way to think.

I'm also prepping for the GMATs and it's a paaaaaaaain the arse. But just peruse these forums from time to time and you'll see encouraging stories that'll keep you motivated, at least it's working for me ;)

Dear Kyro... Dear AbhiJ and dear dzodzo85 too... for all your suggestions and tips... Thanks a lot...

You guys ain't even believe what you have brought in, after a month of trying, I was really been able to drive myself thinking about your posts and got up in the morning and studied!! It had been a good progress today... and been a good day!! I really wanted to share my day with you guys... Am really grateful to you all for being my catalyst.
