do gmatprep Q 20 times ! just the quant, 42 is an abberation.
Don't schedule an early test , schedule a 12 oclock if you can (if you did have an 8 am test)
Tips on how to become a good taker hmm that is hard, but know your stuff cold. If you know your stuff cold you will not get rattled. If you've seen every type of problem thrown at you , it will be a breeze.
What do you think you did wrong in Q?

i was very tired over all so i cant even tell you what went wrong with Q..
i had a noon test so timing of the day wasnt an issue..maybe next time i will just take one around 2:00pm that would give me enough time to take a sleeping aid the night before if i cant sleep..

actually come to think of it..i screwed up the very first question on math..i remember cursing at myself for hiting next too quick.. i am just making up an example the correct ans choice was (x+y)^2 and i ended up clicking (x-y)^2..i hit next too quick when i moved to the next question i was like umm why did i click that option..i guess that just set the tone..

freshin, that is a killer.
I think that first question is the most important in my opinion (not for your score but for your mindset)
I know that feeling. You feel you are playing catchup the whole time.

Wah sorry to hear that man. I think first you need to clam down a little. Try to put things in perspectives and move on. There is only so much you can think of about one thing --and in this case I mean the test you already took. From my experience I found most ppl (including myself) perform best when they are relaxed. So when I took my test I try to not focus on the negatives, just the positives. Because negative thoughts will rattle you. Combine that with your knowledge I think you will do great next time. Maybe you just need to work on your nerves? I am not sure if this will help. Good luck!

Hey Fresinha, sorry to hear about that. But from my experience you have to make allowances for the stress factor. I am sure that now since you have faced the beast once already, you are only gonna do better. You are definitely above a 48Q scorer. Goodluck in your next attempt!!!
