guys what the hell is statement 2? how would you add it to the standard overlapping sets table?
It just means that if net profit is represented by set A and investments in foreign market is represented by Set B, then 24 of the 30 businesses were either reporting a net profit or were investing in foreign markets or did both. So essentially, 24 is the total count of elements from either A or B or both, which implies A Union B.
but in statement B it doesn't say anything about the rest(6 out of 30).
so could it be possible that we cannot blindly assume for those 6.
i mean 2 reported profit then 28 did not.
if 5 belong to investment then 25 do not.
i mean there no clear distinction here. there could be a paradox that i am missing here. Just a thought that arose in my mind.
