(A) Laura stated in her home that she had all the comforts of life
(B) Laura stated that she had, in her home, all the comforts of life
(C) Laura stated that she had all the comforts of life in her home
(D) It was stated by Laura in her home that she had all the comforts of life there
(E) Her home had all the comforts of life was stated by Laura

KUDOS please if you find question interesting.

The original sentence is correct as written.

B and C distort the meaning by suggesting that the comforts of life are in Laura’s home. Actually Laura is stating this in her home i.e. inside her home. The comforts of life could be anywhere.
D is passive and wordy
E is again passive and awkward

Like comforts of life can be anywhere so could have she stated the same fact outside her house also!!!!
Wats the issue..infact I think this question has logical inconsistency

No way

In D and E the options are ackward then go out immediately.

B and C basically say that ALL the comfort of life are in his home. As such one comfort could be cableway because via it you do not need to climbing a mountain; it is a comfort of our days but is impossible that a cableway is in his home.

A instead says that in her home she has all the comforts of life, that is different, completely; such as: wifi connection, a pool and so on....

Hope is clear

exactly for this reason i have said that A is wrong !!
"in her home" -----> the prepositional modifier sud come after "that" and not before "that"

the good part is u have written the sentence correctly (the quoted line ) but this is not what A says

Can someone tell what determines the intended meaning??? Here option C is also right grammatically and logically. How should we know what the intended meaning to determine that option A is correct

First thing to note is that the text undergoes a style error known as ‘wrong word order’. The intended meaning is that Laura wants to say that that there are all comforts of life in her home. . By shifting the prepositional phrase to a place after her statement implies that she made that statement in her home. The text doesn’t focus where she said that. So there is no ambiguity about A being 100% wrong, IMO. It is C by all means.

I think meaning is the most important factor for this question.

(A) Laura stated in her home that she had all the comforts of life
Correct.

(B) Laura stated that she had, in her home, all the comforts of life
Change meaning. The meaning is Laura had all comforts in her home.

(C) Laura stated that she had all the comforts of life in her home
Same as B.

(D) It was stated by Laura in her home that she had all the comforts of life there
"It" is not clear.

(E) Her home had all the comforts of life was stated by Laura
Passive voice is not necessary. Meaning is changed.
