Hello !

I am looking for more point of views on the LBS and INSEAD MBA programs.

I am in IT consulting and want to move into Strategy Consulting post-MBA for a few years before going into Entrepreneurship or Private Equity. Moreover, I want to work in Europe (France or UK or Swizterland pref)

Which one would you choose if you were in my position ? And Why ?

If you wanna go into consulting I'd pick Insead over LBS simply because Insead appears to be a bigger hiring ground for consulting companies (eg https://poetsandquants.com/2012/11/06/mc ... ck-darden/). This said if you are planning on moving into PE after I'd rather try to move to a buy-side firm after an MBA rather than consulting, but that's just my opinion

Some factors to consider: How well off are you and how comfortable are you with debt?

INSEAD for 10 months vs. LBS for 2 years sum quite different amounts. They're also fairly different programs.

Truth be told, you won't definitively better off at one vs. the other. Both are top 5 ex-US and both place into where you want to go both in industry and location. Neither will have a recruiter thinking...hmm...nah I'll interview the guy from school X. This is probably why the poll is currently 50/50.

The MBA is a huge investment in time, money, and life experience so look at both and think about where you'd be happiest and go from there. I know that's a carebear statement but its the same answer you'd give someone debating between a Ferrari and a Lambo for example.

LBS. Because of the internship opportunity.

You are a career switcher. I recommend doing a 3 months internship before graduating. INSEAD offers a 6 weeks internship for January intake only.
