Let the speed of the train be X
to cross a lamp = X/15...................1

to cross a bridge = X+500/40..........................2

equate both 1 and 2

X/15= X+500/40
40X=15X+7500
35X=7500
X= 300

(l+500)/40 = l/15

l=300 E
