Letter of Rec. from Current Grad. Student [#permalink] New post 29 Aug 2008, 09:25
I'm currently a senior at the Univ. of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), pursing a BBA-Accounting. I have a good friend who graduated last year with his BBA and is now getting his master in accounting from UTSA. He is well established in the accounting grad program, has a 4.0 in accounting, and has started teaching some undergrad accounting class. So...

Do you think it would be a good idea to get a letter of rec from him?

Thanks a lot!

Not recommended unless he has an official title other than "grad student". Here is another secret, grad students all get 4.0 grad gpa or close to that, grad students don't "fail" grad schools, they get kicked out for other reasons, but not likely because of letter grades. Grad programs don't want to admit that they accepted morons into their ranks.

4.0 for all grad programs, Really damn I really should do my masters there. I guess someone should tell my school school that. For some reason I think either either a public school thing or an engineering thing, but that's true for everyone. Although I do get annoyed of how much grad inflation goes on.

My last class prof gave 2 A's, 1 A+ out of 31 people in the class.

I've seen Cs and Fs in engineering grad school classes...
Think the mean is at B-/C+
