Hi guys,
First post here and I want to say what a great forum this is and I am glad that I found it. My question is this:
I am currently applying to MS Accounting programs for Fall 2014 right out of undergrad and many of the programs require an academic letter of recommendation. The problem is that I currently attend to a public school (San Diego State University), and due to class sizes, structure of curriculum, what have you, I have never really had much interaction with any professors aside from the occasional office hours meetings, certainly not enough to warrant asking for a letter of rec. So what do I do? I am sure that there have been other people in my position and would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks
You don't have to really know the professor to a point where you're buddies with them. Find a class that you did very well on (the more recent, the better) and go in and have a chat with him/her, then ask if he/she can write you a rec letter for MAcc program.
Plenty of people in my program did not have a tight relationship with their rec writer, but did perform extremely well in the class. That is all the program needs, someone to vouch that you can handle their coursework/workload.
