Letting Schools know you have been wait listed/accepted [#permalink]
11 Dec 2006, 06:55
Out of curiosity - do you think it is worth letting another school know you have been wait listed or accepted at another program in order to put some pressure on them?
I am not sure how the wait list would play out but the acceptance might put pressure on them.
Rhyme, Hjort - your thoughts?

I have the same question, too.
IMO, if you are accepted of other schools, you may clearly and secretly let the school know.
If you are waitlisted, just keep it for yourself.

I suggest you check with Paul (at the accepted forum). He's actually written a book on this subject.

In my opinion, letting them know may help at a lower ranked school but not a top one.
Hope it helps. L.
