LG/Nike cash flow problems [#permalink] New post 17 Oct 2012, 14:51
Hi everyone.

I'm a 30 something male working in logistics for a major MNC.

I'm keen on taking a MBA with my logistics company and have secured Senior VP support for doing so.

However, I've learnt that 2 major customers - LG and Nike - haven't been paying us for 6+ months.

Does anyone know if either of these companies have cash flow issues? Because if they do, and they don't pay us, we're taking a multi hundred million euro hit. If that happens, it's absolutely positively certain that one of the first expenditures to go will be the MBA sponsorship - and my next career step is toast, within the next few weeks.

Does anyone have any up to date info on LG or Nike's ability to pay their bills?

Is your company a new supplier to Nike/LG? It is very common for large company's to take a relatively longer time to pay bills. Many firms do this because they want to keep their payable period high. This allows them to keep more cash on hand and have better cash conversion. I don't think that they have any problems paying bills, I just think that they are using their leverage to be slow with paying bills.
