Haven't heard much of them either - how many did you apply to?
Did any offer scholarship or at least partial ride? That could be an easy answer..

I haven`t heard of any of them either :o, i`m guessing these school are `local schools` so where you wish to work after graduation should have an influence in your decision.

Also, looks like they are geographically spread out - do you have a preference where to live? Seems quite a diversity - new england, mid-west, florida, texas, etc.

Ya these are not super elite schools.. i gave gmat after 6 months of study and got 530.. i know i wont get 730 since i am not a rocket scientist..

i dont want scolarships.. fees range from 25k to 60k.. but that is not a problem either..

as for the locations.. i can go anywhere as long as it is not in the middle of desert..

i just want to get an mba degree, i am looking at average university.. and than join a company and work my way up..

Why do you need an MBA? They arent really a requirement in many fields and where they are almost required those companies usually recruit only at the top schools. What field are you in now, how many years experience and what are your post mba career goals. 60k is a lot to spend on an MBA if its not going to get you what you hope it will.

My 2 cents. My rule of thumb; other things being equal, choose the one closest to a big city.

I dont live in USA.. for me MBA is ticket to job market in US.. I am currently working in money markekts and am making Okay money here... but I want to grow.. and US is the world largest market.. I think I can grow more in US in feild of Finance in next 5 years.. than I will do here in next 10 years..

I will be happy if I get a finance investments related job.. pays me say 75k anually.. and bonus.. I want to sell financial products.. not insurance or loans.. but private investments in funds.. i myself have been investing in money markets and commodity markets for past 5 years.. but i dont want to be a full time investment manager.. as i said i want my job to be full time marketing of invetment ideas (80%)..and part investment consulting if required(20%). To sell a market product.. you need to know markets..

So i am taking Finance as major and marketing as minor.. as a starting job after i complete my mba.. even if i manage to save 750-1000USD per month it is enough for me.. later with time i will grow..

Thats my plan. What you think of it?

Thanks for your advice.

Thats what even I was thinking..

Based on it I have finalised on these five universities:

I have 530 only in Gmat.. I have 3 yrs full work ex.. but still..

My final five are:

Clark University (outside Boston, but okay for MBA Finance I heard)
University of Hartford, (Conneticut)
University of Dallas, Texas (Dallas)
Johnson and Wales University (Provedance)
Long Island University (New York)

thats in order of my preference...

what you think of it?

Hi,
I would suggest choosing a school from this list that's close to your industry of interest. Good luck.

I don't know anything about these either, but some schools that are lower in the overall rankings are often quite strong in a particular field. For instance, USNWR lists Weatherhead (Case Western Reserve) in Cleveland as being in the top 10 for nonprofit management. If you are interested in finance, go for the one that does the best in that area.

I would say geography is also important - less well-known schools tend to get local recruiters.
