I graduated in 06 from a relatively good state school with a degree in Economics. My gpa was weak 3.18.

I got 3 1/2 years of work experience at a Fortunate 500 company. 1 1/2 years as an analyst and 2 years in sales.

I went back to school to get a masters in Economics and Finance which is where I'm at now. It is a decent LAC and my gpa is much better, nearly a 4.0. Not sure a masters gpa carries much weight though?

Now, I'm taking a look at a possibility of an MBA part-time if I don't go the route of a ph.d. in Economics.

Given my low ugpa, do I still stand a chance at a top 30 school assuming that I do well on the GMAT? Do I have enough work experience?

Yes - A high GMAT does help, but....

Low UGPA doesn't matter as much as you'd think. I had a 3.31 from a pretty unimpressive school, and I know plenty of people with a sub 3 that got into the top 10-15. I'm sure there are also many sub 3's at the top 5-7 too.

Once you get inside the top 15-20, it becomes less about numbers and more about the individual as a whole - experiences, story, goals, etc.
