Looks like an easy d/s problem but how are we suppose to interprete "Y can be evenly divided by 5"????

Can Y be evenly divided by 5?
1), X divided by 5, remain is 2,
2) XY can be evenly divided by 5

Ans: C

Y evenly divided by 5 should be interpreted as when Y is divided by 5 the reminder should be zero.

Stmt 1) does not talk about Y
Stmt 2) X could be multiple of 5 (or) Y could be multiple of 5

Combining, we know X is not a multiple of 5, hence Y has to be multiple of 5. Hence the answer.

yup its C ..

A ) Insufficient no information about Y
B) 20 can be divided by 5 where x = 4,Y=5 or Y=5,X=4 so Insufficient

taking both together as XY is divisible by 5 and statement A says X is not divisible by 5 ..so Y has to be divisible by 5 for the product XY to be divisible by 5.
