LOR only thing missing from app [#permalink] New post 09 Jan 2007, 09:01
I turned in my app about a week ago and my last recommender still hasn't turned in the LOR. I'm hoping this won't affect my application seat (rolling admissions) or my credibility with the school.

I'm not sure what else I can do to get my recommender to hurry up. I asked him to do this about 1.5 months ago and have been following up with him constantly. I've called him 2 times, emailed him once and IMed him within the past week n half. I know he's a busy man but a LOR cant take more than an hour to complete!

NOt sure what else I can do but continue to wait...

If he lives near you, I would show up at his workplace and talk to him in person. Explain the importance of the LOR and by continuing to put it off he is putting your odds of acceptance at risk.

If talking to him in person isn't an option, I would quickly try and find another recommender to write your LOR.

Start thinking about someone other than him who can write a LOR for you.

That guy doesnot seem keen and I am afraid whether he can turn up a good LOR.

I won't be able to visit him since hes about a 7hour drive away from me. He was my former manager at my old company. Fortunately, I have kept in contact with several others there and found out that he is at CES, which has kept him very busy the past few days. This still should not affect his submission though.. I'll have to call him again tomorrow if I don't get any response then start thinking of some LOR back ups!
