hi guys,

i'm currently in the last semester of my economic studies and will be finishing with a 4.5/6.0 (six point system in switzerland- where 4.0 is the minimum passing grade).
Now I've been putting the GMAT test off because of my quite low undergrad gpa- my question to you: is there a chance for me to get into a US top mba program or is everything lost?

(just a few further info: i've been working from day one of my studies if that should help my case)

i'd appreciate any help, or any further info

thanks

GMAT score and GPA play a very important role. Calculate your GPA on US scale and give your GMAT score as well. All you need is to impress the adcoms. You need to have good amount of work experience before applying to any business school. And it should focus on your leadership abilities. Similarly extracurricular activities also play a very important role. You need to come up with a good story to explain why you scores are low. Also that you deserve to be here because you are passionate enough for it. All this and you would easily end up into to MBA program.
Good Luck!

4.5 is, accourding to WES, the border between a "B" and a "C", so I would say the GPA is somewhere around 2.5-2.7 (you can calculate the GPA yourself with the information on their website). If that is true, it is indeed very low. On the other hand, if your schools reputation is very good (St. Gallen would be perfect for that) and you add a great GMAT and solid work experience, you have a chance, especially at those schools that lack Europeans. You have plenty of time to work into that directions, so no worries...
