Hi All!!

I have attempted GMAT 3 times. The scores are {600 (Q47, V 26), 540 (Q45, V 19)taken in end 2010} and the recent one 580 (Q48, V23) {taken today}
Pls suggest me whether to retake. Can i score 680+ if i retake?

I have devoted 6 months of study for the last GMAT preparation. Before exam i took MGMAT test and scored as follows.

GMAT prep1.0 1: 650 (48, 32)
MGMAT 2 : 690 (46,38)
MGMAT 3 : 680 (47, 36)
MGMAT 4: 670 (46, 35) (Taken at office)
MGMAT 5: 710 (49, 38)
MGMAT 6: 720 (47, 41)

GMAT prep2.0 1: 700 (48,38) IR 5
GMAT Prep2.0 2: 680 (48,35) IR 8
GMAT prep2.0 Retake 720 (50,37) IR 7

All mock test taken in official condition with 8 mins break and attempted AWA & IR seriously.

Need help to improve my verbal score. During last exam i felt difficulty in comprehending 3 RCs (all from topics like humanities and american history)

Awaiting for valuable replies.

SOURH7WK,
Your practice tests don't look all too low. As long as nerves don't get to you on exam day, you should score in the upper 600s/mb 700 range. However, this can't be guaranteed. If you apply a discount factor...you might not reach your threshold. You want to increase your confidence when answering questions that when you arrive at an answer, you absolutely know it's the correct answer and you mark it and move on.

Your score is on the range, now your focus before your exam should be doing "sprints" on practice questions. Really pay attention to time and gear your brain up for longer stamina - especially with the new integrated reasoning section of the exam in the beginning.

As for RC, try reading more Social Sciences, Humanities articles from Harvard Magazine: http://harvardmagazine.com/topic/research

Gain more familiarity and if you still get stuck try checking out some free RC resources from GMATPill - http://www.gmatpill.com/practice-questi ... -guide-rc/
