Low GMAT Score! Best In-class Prep Courses out there? [#permalink] New post 29 Mar 2012, 18:17
Hi,

New to the forum and still looking through the topics on Prep Course reviews. I actually have no experience with the GMAT and took the MCAT myself and enrolled in the Princeton Review when I took my MCAT 2 years ago.

However, I have a family friend living overseas and is looking to fly to the U.S to enroll in a GMAT prep course. He'll be graduating with a B.S and scored very low on the GMAT (not sure the exact score) on his first attempt.

Obviously, you only get out of these courses what you put in and no course will help if he doesn't put in the effort. So, what live in class courses do you guys suggest to look into to raise your score substantially and if possible somewhere in the New York/ Manhattan area. Also, price isn't a factor for this student. He mentioned the Manhattan course to me and I've read a few threads on the Veritas. So any help is appreciated.

I would without a doubt go with manhattan gmat or Veritas. At the end of the day though it's going to be the instructor. Manhattan gmat has amazing books and resources, including their tests which seem to be the closest in predicting your score. I would find out which classes are given that you can work in your schedule and then do some research on who will be teaching the class, then weigh the options. Hope it goes well, good luck!

You can also take a look at the reviews. It depends on what course you need and what specific needs you have. (e.g. online or in-person class, etc)
