Low GMAT score - How does a recruiter see you?

I was talking to an Emory Alumni, and his post graduation experience, and according to him now a days recruiters look at your gmat score besides your overall academics to determine your viability and most of the time if you don't score close to 700 won't even consider you for an interview. I think I will get into the mba programme at emory with a 620 but he made me rethink if I should retake the gmat. What's your take on it. Thanks

if you have the time to prepare, the desire to prep adequately, and the $250, it can't (well...it won't likely) hurt to take it again.

Only you can analyze how you felt regarding the 620 you scored already. Do you believe it was about right for you? below your ability?

How much and what did you do for you prep prior to getting the 620?

I think it depends on what industry you hope to go into post-MBA. If you want to get into i-banking or consulting, 620 probably will keep you out. Some interviewers of buyside analyst jobs also ask for gmat score.
