Low GMAT score...my chances at UT McCombs for Part Time MBA [#permalink] New post 07 Feb 2010, 20:20
Hi, I have a GMAT score of 550 with AWA 5.5. I have a Masters degree with 3.2 gpa and 6 yrs of work experience.
I am looking to apply for the Part time MBA program at UT McCombs, SMU Cox and Rice for Fall 2010. Can someone shed some light about my chances of getting into one of the three. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

The information you seek can be readily attained from the websites of any of the above mentioned programs. Your GMAT falls well below average for both McCombs (660) and Cox (635) PT programs. Not sure about Rice. Beyond that, there is no "formula" so you might as well take a shot.

If you really want to do PT at McCombs/Cox/Jones, you should try to pull your GMAT up by ~100 points. Although some applicants are accepted with low GMAT, they usually have good GPA and/or work experience. Low GMAT/GPA combination doesn't bode well for the academic ability of the applicant.
