low GMAT - still chances at top B-schools?? [#permalink] New post 16 Aug 2005, 03:26
hi there....
i just took the GMAT and got a 650...very disappointing!!!
do i still have chances at top business schools like stanford, columbia and harvard??
i am german, 25, have a good story to tell (lived and worked for 3 years in asia starting up my own company), speak 4 languages fluently, ...
just my GMAT is a bit low.....
someone once told me that with 640+ you would play in the league of the big ones, so that my 650 still would give me the chance to be accepted at those big ones??!!
is my nationality an advantage or disadvantage?
please let me know!

Your GMAT is low for these schools, but Europeans are not applying in droves to US b-schools. If your grades are above average, your quant is above the 80%, and your work experience is competitive, then give it a try. Certainly the schools will like your int'l experience.
