Low GPA [#permalink] New post 04 Oct 2011, 00:35
I am in the third year in the university studying Accounting and Finance but i really sucked and now my gpa is 3.41.I really worry about this and especially if it is possible to have a good grade in the end(say 3.65+) because i have two years to improve my grades and the subjects may become more difficult.I want to get into top Masters in finance or MBA after graduation,so this would be a huge obstacle to overcome, particularly if you want to be hired from top firms in consulting or investment banking .Any advice?

IB demands the smartest people, and the best indicator for new employees competing in a knowledge-based economy are grades. Often companies will advise college admissions officers and recruiters that they will not see anyone with less than a B (3.0) average.

High CGPA with good EC specially sports activities are loved by IB recruiters. If you can keep it above 3.5, you are good. Bur first think about a decent MBA.

We use Birkman's method (Admissions committee of All colleges use ) for a Winning application.

if you can hop into a great MBA program then you'll do a lot better in IB. Your undergrad grade won't matter as much as your GMAT for MBA admissions
