Low GPA [#permalink] New post 23 Sep 2008, 19:24
Hey Paul, I recently graduated college with a 2.4 GPA. I worked about 40 hrs a week during school and never quite to school serious until now. I am currently in the application process with University of Colorado, do you have any advice for me to offeset my low GPA? Is it still possible to get accepted with this low GPA?

Well, they will certainly cut you some slack for working full-time, but you will want to show them that you did reasonably well in quant and pre-MBA core courses like stats, calculus etc. and above all you will want to annihilate the GMAT. If you get a GMAT score that is 30-40 points higher than their average, that could make a big difference. You could also retake any quant and pre-MBA classes you got less than a B in and earn an A -- i.e., build an "alternate transcript."

Hope this helps,
