Low GPA - Any shot at a good MBA school? [#permalink]

I was a Canadian Undergraduate from a middle-tier school. At first I was admitted for my BBA in Business, but then some life changing issues caused me to get kicked out of my program, and into a BA in Communications. I tried to do my best in the last remaining years to get a good average, and only ended up with an overall CGPA of B-. My last two years were B-, but my final year was a B.
I noticed that all the MBA schools in the US and Canada are all asking for final 2 years with a B average. Is there even a point in me applying? I mean, even if I get an astonishing GMAT score, will they even care to look at me? I mean, they have a "minimum GPA requirement" for a reason right?

You certainly shouldn't give up on your MBA aspirations. Lots of people on this forum have had poor GPAs and have overcome them with other strengths. A couple of things you can do to mitigate the effect that this GPA will have on your candidacy are: -Do very well on the GMAT -Build an "alternative transcript". To do this you will take business or math classes at a local community college or an extension school of a university. You'll make sure you do really well in these courses to remove any doubts that the adcom may have about your ability to succeed in school.
