low GPA in Masters degree [#permalink] New post 06 Dec 2012, 23:44

I have finished and then MS. I have work experience of 2 years. Now I am planning to give GMAT, my queries are whether the b schools take my under graduate or post graduate gpa? MY post graduate GPa is low.

Graduate school GPA trumps undergraduate school GPA. Your graduate school GPA is a lot more recent. Also, since you have already attended graduate school, it is a better measure of your ability to perform in a graduate program than your undergraduate GPA would be.

If my post helped you, please consider giving me kudos.

Hmmmm, I'm gonna have to disagree here. First of all BOTH are important, but UG is the yardstick a) cause everyone has done it b) because in Masters degrees grades tend to be inflated (getting in is considered the achievement). You CAN help make up for a low UG GPA by beating the heck out of your GMAT, though!
