Low UG Score for a PhD program application [#permalink] New post 03 Jul 2011, 19:26
Guys, how much does an UG GPA play a role in dtermining one's entry into a very good PhD program? Can I compensate it with some solid recos, couple or more good publications in good refereed journals? Also, would my case be bolstered if I were to get a great score ( to me it is anything that is 700/710+) and also do a Masters by Research at a good FT top30 ranked European school? Or, would a RA experience in a FT top 20 ranked global school suffice in lieu of the Masters by Research program?

Thanks a lot guys!! Please do answer this question for me. Greatly appreciated. Btw, my UG score was 61 % and I had a Post Graduate Diploma score of about 3.4 GPA on 5 scale. I had a GRE score of 1290. Hope this info helps you.
