I have a doubt regarding this question:

**Quote:**

If \(A\) , \(B\) , and \(C\) are points on the plane, is \(AB \lt 10\) ?

1. \(AC + BC = 10\)

Statement (1) by itself is insufficient. S1 gives \(AB \le 10\) (Insufficient, for \(AB \lt 10\) ).

I thought that a side of a triangle is always less than the sum of the other two sides (straight line is always shorter).

what am I missing here?

Thanks
