a.0.997
b.0.998
c.0.999
d.1.000

1/1.001 = 1000 / 1001 = (1001 - 1)/1001 = 1 - 1/1001 = 1 - 0.0009 = 0.9991.. since the answers listed to only 3 decimals and 4th decimal is < 4..

Try with my explanation, let me know how it is...

$$\frac{1}{1.001}=X$$ , $$1=1.001X$$
1.001 means $$100%+0,1%$$ of a number, so lets try with a 0.997: it becomes $$0.997(100%)+0.000997(0.1%)=0.997997$$
with B it's $$0.998998$$ with C it's $$0.999999$$. C is clearly closer to 1.
Of course the answer can't be D or E because Den>Num
