Team A, team B, team C, and team D take part in a tournament in which every team plays once with each of its opponents. 3 points are awarded for victory, 1 for a draw, and 0 for defeat. The scoring table currently is as follows:
team B 7 points team C 4 points team A 0 points team D 0 points How many games are yet to be played in the tournament?
0 1 2 3 it cannot be determined from the information given Team B has played all of its three matches - it could not have accumulated 7 points in 2 games. Also, because team A and team D have no points, team B tied with team C. Therefore team C beat either team A or team D. In either case, two games are yet to be played: A-D and D-C (or A-C).
The correct answer is C.
MY ISSUE :
Clearly the total no. of games is 3! i.e. 6 games Then the total no. of points is 11 :-
Matches Pts Total 2 3 6 - Won (team B) 1 3 1 - Draw (team B) 1 3 3 -Won (team C) 1 1 1 - Draw (Team C)
So total no. of matches played : 5
Thus, 6 games to be played (-) 5 games played = 1 game remaining.
How come 2 matches remaining? Where am I wrong, pls help !!!

How come 2 matches remaining? Where am I wrong, pls help !!! There is only 1 draw. In a draw both teams get 1 point You are double counting that

Bunuel. What should be the average time to be spent on this question. On the practice test, I took 3 minutes plus got it wrong. After careful reviewing, I understood this one. Do these types actually appear on the real thing? Regards.

Pretty Straight forward.. If B has 7 points and C has 4 points and A & D have 0 points then B and C each played a draw game. That leaves 2 wins for B and 1 win for C to add up their total. Since there are 6 total games possible 6-4 = 2 games left to play.
