A conference room is equipped with a total of 45 leather and upholstered chairs. If there are a total of 14 reclining chairs and 20% of the leather chairs are reclining, but 10 of the reclining chairs are upholstered, how many upholstered chairs are non-reclining?

I think the wording is a bit confusing here. "A conference room is equipped with a total of 45 leather and upholstered chairs"
As per the answer they take this as the total of the entire set. My doubt is how can we take this 45 as the total. Should'nt the wording be more clear. or am I the only one thinking differently.

I read it as 45 total chairs, either leather or upholstered. That is how I would work the problem, but if the answer that I got was not a choice then I'd have to be prepared to consider a different meaning. While this is not a totally clear statement, it's much more clear than a lot of the questions I've seen on this forum.
