Hi,
I have taken 4 of the Manhattan mocks already. I have been scoring well on my QA(51 on all them till now). But my verbal scores have ranged from 31 to 33 on a consistent basis.
Will the verbal part on the real GMAT be of the same difficulty? I
..
That being said does a QA51 and V32 lead to just a 650 like it did on one of the mocks?
..
What should i do to push my VA score to 36+?
Please help..i have my gmat on the 3rd of next month and i am targeting a 700+ score..
Here is a table that will tell you how your overall score would vary with Verbal if you score Q51:
gmat-scores-83890.htmlQ51, V32 should give you around 680 though there are ranges even in 51 (low, high) and 32 (low high) so the overall score can vary depending on what you get. As you see in the table, for a 700, you need at least a 35 in Verbal. You should try an official practice test to get a better understanding of where you stand right now.
The concern is that you have 10 days in hand. This is not enough time to get some new prep material, follow it thoroughly and then practice. So there are two options:
1. You can re-schedule your test to a later date, say end of July. You will have enough time to prepare and enough time for your apps.
2. Keep the test date and put in some solid effort in the next few days. Which question types give you most trouble in Verbal? Check out their theory - how to handle different types of error in SC, what to do about accuracy errors, different types of questions in CR etc. If you do not have a book for that, check out our blog (
https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#/category/gmat/). It has posts describing various techniques for everything related to GMAT! If you hit your target, great! If not, you can consider it a practice run and make a study plan for the next GMAT date.
Another thing - do put in some effort in IR too if you haven't done so already. I have come across many cases in the recent times in which people have scored 700+ but messed up IR with a 1 or 2. They eventually end up retaking.
