Manhattan Review Classroom course suggestion [#permalink] New post 27 Feb 2006, 15:28
Hi,
I am a new member and plan to take a Classroom course as i guess i would be more regular in my preparation with my work schedule. Has anyone taken Manhattan Review classroom course or have any views about it? I have heard a lot about them and their SC guides, but would anyone recommend taking their class compared to Kaplan's? I am aiming for 700+ so any advice would be appreciated in terms of GMAT prep.

Thanks,
Alok

I started a somewhat similiar thread but have received no replies, so I'm going to jump in here and listen in. I'm in the same boat as you, I've also been reviewing at Kaplan, Princeton, Veritas, GMAX, and Manhattan. Right now I'm using Princeton Online but I would like a more 'involved' course and have been looking at Manhattan (which seems to receive so much praise) and Veritas which seems to claim itself as elite. I've deleted my thread and am joining yours. Hopefully we'll get some answers. :-D

Yes i think i will go with the Manhattan Review class. I have not heard from anyone.Does anyone know if anyone has taken their classes? Its a hefty amount, but with tight work schedule, this seems like the best option. I am personally not interested in Kaplan. Manhattan review has very good verbal strategies and thats where my weak point would be. I can always review Kaplan books for their math part.

I have not taken a Manhattan course but have been very happy with PR's verbal strategies. The practice tests are the closest to the real thing outside of GMATPrep; I think Manhattan uses Cambridge's tests. I looked at courses but haven't signed up for one yet, but what I liked about PR is that the instructors will stick around after class and help you as much as you need. Sort of like having a tutor as well. I have not read good reviews of Kaplan so I didn't consider them, and don't know anyone myself who has taken Manhattan or Veritas, just PR.

Hope this helps somewhat...

Why don't you check our GMAX Online? It is certainly longer and more in depth that Manhattan Review, and actually teaches the content fully, rather than just give you the material to learn on your own and review it in the class. Read the review here at the GMAT Club, and read the thank you note from one of the members whose score shot from 550 to 750 after taking GMAX Online.
You can also watch lots of demo lessons in the review and see how we teach.
Good luck on the test,
Leanna
