Whats wrong with A? i think "about pollution" is wrong in B.

I go with B too.
about pollution is there in both sentences.

Since this is a truth,we need to have a present tense here "join".

B is the correct..answer..maintains the parrallism of the tense..the 2nd part of the sentence should be in simple present as the first part...btw what is the OA

Unfortunately B is wrong. This is from GMATPrep 1. I did exactly the same choice. -\

Could somebody give more details about B choice? Why B is not correct?

Should we prefer 'in order to maintain competitiveness' then 'for maintaining competitiveness' ?

Why is it not B?

I think B is parallel. But is mixing of tenses in Option A correct?

Two things

1. infinitive form is preferred to ing form
2. read the two parts of the sentence seperately
Some env say that X and that Y

Some env say that rich nations join in .... this doesn't make sense

we need have joined
