Many people, when asked, said they voted in the last election when in fact they did not. It cannot, however,
be concluded that these people, thinking that not voting is socially unacceptable, consciously lied. They might
simply remember voting in most past elections and so mistakenly report that they voted in the last election.

Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument above?

A. Most people, including most of those who did not vote in a given election, give accurate reports of their
voting habits.
B. When the exact date of the last election was specified, far fewer people who did not vote in that election
claimed that they did.
C. Many of those who falsely report that they voted in the last election believe that people should vote in every
election for which they are eligible.
D. The percentage of people who falsely report that they voted in the last election is the same if they are asked
a few days after the election or several weeks after the election.
E. The number of people who falsely report having voted in the last election decreases if they knew beforehand
that it is not possible to vote in every election

OA after discussions.
