Re: First attempt 770 (Q49 V47): Debrief and 5 month study plan [#permalink]
Hey I do have the gmat exam and question pack 1: in total 4 exams and 480 or so questions including free stuff.

I agree on the mgmat I hear the material is excellent but now that I've learnt all the concepts from veritas I decided too confuse myself with more information. As for the tests I have friends who've told me the exactly same thing that it is better not to do their practice tests as they are too difficult.

I'll definitely look into GMAT club though for tough quant questions.

Thanks.

^No problem! This forum was so helpful to me so its the least I could do.

I noticed that my story may be a little different from most people on this forum (struggles in Quant, proficiency in Verbal). Hopefully others who are nervous about Quant can see that you can improve a lot with hard work.

Great Score. Can you tell me from your GMATPREP mock tests how many verbal questions did you get wrong for V47 & V44 and how many quant questions did you get wrong for Q50 & Q49.
Thanks

Hi, here was my breakdown:

GMATPrep 2: V46 (4 wrong)
GMATPrep 3: V44 (5 wrong)
GMATPrep 4: V47 (2 wrong)

Not sure about quant, I'll get back to you on that. Off the top of my head I think I missed 8 for the one Q50.

At this level of Verbal, this information probably matters, but keep in mind that for quant especially it's not really about how many you miss. I found this thread helpful:

Here were my total splits on the official GMATPrep software:

GMATPrep 1: Q48 (9 wrong) V41 (9 wrong) = 720
GMATPrep 2: Q50 (8 wrong) V46 (4 wrong) = 770
GMATPrep 3: Q49 (8 wrong) V44 (5 wrong) = 760
GMATPrep 4: Q48 (7 wrong) V47 (2 wrong) = 760

Thanks. As you said the number of questions does not give you all the information but this information should help.

You're welcome! Don't just work harder, work smarter! Each official question is a gem that you can learn from. Make sure you're squeezing everything you can out of each question, so that way you have a better opportunity to get the next one right! Good luck!
