Hi all, I just had my interview via Skype yesterday. Though I'd share my experience:

The adcom first walked me through what to expect from the interview. She explained that the interview will last about 30 minutes, with the first 20 minutes or so going through my professional and career background, as well as my personal qualities, and the last ten minutes for any questions I have. She also introduced herself -- she is a an MBA graduate from USC and a member of the Admissions Committee.

Questions I've got (from what I could remember):
- Walk me through your resume.
- If you can start over with your career, is there something you will do differently?
- Why did I decided to go to the XX for my undergrad?
- Why MBA?
- Why Marshall?
- What are your plans after MBA?
- What are three qualities you think a good leader ship have?
- What are three words your friends will use to describe you?
- What do you do on your free time?
- Describe an obstacle at work and how you've overcame it.
- Describe a difficult teamwork experience.
- Any questions?

The interview lasted about 25 minutes. I've stumbled on some of the questions...but I'm grateful that the adcom was very friendly and patient throughout the interview. She also gave detailed answers to my questions. I feel that I could have done better on the interview...!
At the very end, she walked me through what will happen next:
- Decisions will be released on 12/15 on the apply yourself portal.
- Decisions include: admitted, denied, and wait listed.
- For those who are wait listed, your profile will roll over to the next rounds.

Hope that helps!
Keeping my fingerscrossed and thumbs pressed for everyone!

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your interview experience. I wish you very best for the result!

Most of the interview questions seems standard. Can you tell us how many days from the time of application submission did the school take to send you an interview invite?

Regards

Hi Aditya,
My pleasure to share!
Like overs have said, I think they've sent out a batch e-mail to R1 applicants on 11/1. So i don't think the number of days is a factor here.
Hope that helps!

Hi,

I submitted my app on 10/1 Taipei time for R1 (deadline was 10/15) and got the invite on 11/2 Taipei time.

Thanks for sharing! I will be applying in R2, but I wanted to know how early do they roll interview invites from the deadline day.

If I may ask, which other schools are you planning to apply?

I spoke to a first year student at Marshall and learned that the on-campus interviews are mostly conducted by ad-com members, and they are mostly comprehensive (i.e, the interviewer would have read your entire profile). I am scheduling mine for Nov 18, but i'am yet to receive a confirmation.
Did anybody interview yet? Any other tips or preparation strategies to share?

I had my interview on campus last week - with an ad-com member. She wasn't 100% up to speed on my profile, but she had my application on hand in front of her.

It was pretty straightforward and friendly - mostly just talking about my work background, why I decided on an MBA at this point, and why Marshall. She also asked me about hobbies outside of work, and if I had any clubs in mind that I'd like to participate in if I attended.

Hope that helps, and good luck in your interview tomorrow!

Interviewed today on campus with an admissions representative. My interviewer was very friendly. Standard questions, nothing too out of left field. I am a re-applicant so I was asked about that and what I had done since my last application. I would say it lasted about 30 minutes, and then I got to ask my own questions for another 10 minutes.

Any Indian applicants here, applying or admitted?

I want to ask about the school's TOEFL requirement. I read it on the website but just want to confirm.

Is it absolutely mandatory for Indian applicants studied and working in India to take TOEFL?

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes, Indian applicants, such as us, are required to take TOFEL unless we have a degree from States or any nation whose first language is English.

Thanx Adi.

USC is actually a good fit for my career goals. But taking TOEFL just for this school deters me from applying.

I just had my interview on campus last week. As others have said, the questions were pretty standard. I did learn that they try to contact those that are admitted by phone before releasing a decision online. Now I'm just trying to patiently wait for that phone call!

Has anyone applied to both IBEAR and full-time MBA? Do we need to create two separate application profiles with separate recommendation forms?

Anyone know when Marshall will release round 1 decisions? The website says that notification begins on December 15th, however that's a Sunday.
