I did not read any, really

but I know these two are popular:

"ABC of Getting the MBA Admissions Edge" and "Your MBA Game Plan: Proven Strategies for Getting into the Top Business Schools".

What do you people think?

I just bought "88 Great MBA Tips". What I didn't know it was that its geared more towards A school admissions. Even though Im applying to a B school I still think the essay writing tips and resume suggestions are good resources. I might end up buying "ABC" when I get closer to applying. Has anyone used either book? Thanks

Montauk's book is definitely the best on the market. Although he has not really updated it with the last edition it is still the most comprehensive and useful book on the market.

I liked Montauk's book as it has a lot of sample essays. not, mind you, to copy stuff off from .. but to get a general idea of the question, and some sample essays of admitted applicants ..
I also have the book 'Marketing yourself to top mba programmes' by Phil and Carol Carpenter from HBS. Though this book is even older than Montauk's (refers to apps on disks! :) ), this is pretty insightful .. I especially liked the personal evaluation questions section there .. these questions helped me analyze my goals/interests/background, etc

Cannot comment on the 88 tips .. unfortunately I also didnt know about the mbagameplan .. I think that seems to be pretty good too.
