MBA after Ph.D. or before Ph.D. Suggestions please!! [#permalink] New post 28 Feb 2005, 00:49
Hi Scott and Omari,

Actually, I am unable to decide on one thing. I have plans for my Ph.D. in embedded systems as well as an MBA in Science & Technology. Considering my long-term goal of starting an industry in Chip design, which one do you think is better? Please feel free to pour out your opinions on this. This helps me a lot!!

My profile : B.Tech (Instrumentation- Andhra University) (India) - 74%
MS (VLSI) from IIT-Madras (India) - 9.4/10
6 years of strong experience with many chip (ASIC/VLSI) tape-outs included (Currently, I am 29 years)

Cheers,
Chandra

You are probably unlikely to do both, so it might be helpful to reflect on where the largest gaps in terms of your current ability are. Do you need a stronger technical background in terms of chip design? If yes, then a PhD might be a good choice. If not then perhaps the MBA.
