MBA for work experience under 5 years [#permalink] New post 07 Sep 2011, 09:46
Hi guys,
So here's my profile.
Work exp: 2 years of consulting exp in one of the Big Four
GMAT: 730 (v-40/ q-49)
Academics: 8.2/10 (Equivalent of 3.3/4)

I've just started my b-school applications and have shortlisted the following:
Booth
Darden
NYU Stern
CMU: Tepper MBA and Heinz MIS
Kelley MIS as well as MBA
ISB
USC Marshall
UT Austin McComb
Univ of North Carolina Kenan Flagler
Georgetown Univ - McDonough

So please tell me if I there are more b schools that I can apply to and where I stand in the above schools.
Your inputs would mean a lot to me.
Thanks a ton :)

You are spreading yourself very thin. Focus on not more than 5 schools. 10 is a very long list.

Explain your profile a bit more to even comment on your chances.

Good luck!

Hi priyer111,

interviewbay is quite right, those are a LOT of schools.

While your shortlisted (or longlisted? ;P) choices are all good choices, I guess you have to shortlist is even further. Some things that you can think about are what you want to do post-MBA (e.g. consulting, i-banking, to name some typical fields), how much money you're willing to spend, location (urban city such as Chicago or college town such as Bloomington), etc.

I notice that you're also considering MIS programs. What are your post-MBA goals? Can they be achieved with an MIS degree? Have you considered dual-degrees? I know of a few that have an MIS focus such as BU, Indiana U, U Pitt etc.
