MBA Grads or Current Students: Was it worth it? [#permalink]
18 Jan 2013, 08:07
I'm starting this topic to ask MBA grads or students who have already started classes -- was it all worth it? How has the experience been so far? Was quitting your full-time job, forgoing 2 year's worth of salary and going through the insane process of applying to business school worth it? I'm just curious to know what your thoughts are especially because I'm confused as to whether it's worth it for me. Thank you.

So worth it. I never want to apply to business school again but if I had to rewind and make the decision for a second time I wouldn't change it. Not working is so awesome (although not having a paycheck sucks). I am finally being considered for jobs for which employers wouldn't consider me twice prior to coming to Booth. I'm only in my second quarter and I'm taking classes that actually interest me. Best of all the people are awesome.

yes, yes YES! Basically what Cheety said: 1. I'm having the most fun I've EVER had. These people will by my friends forever. 2. My classes are spectacular and I'm learning about things that are good for me (capital markets), help my career (marketing strategy) and are fascinating (healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship). 3. Companies who would have thrown my resume in the trash a year ago are now contacting ME! 4. I've been forced to really think about what I want out of my career and take actionable steps to make it a reality. 5. Theme parties.

Theme parties make life worth living.

I posted in the other thread, but yes, it was absolutely worth it. You can read my comments there.
