Hah, good question. I'm not sure.

I always say an MBA education, i never say MBA, because its the education that gets me there, not the MBA.

Its An MBA ... because when you say MBA, it sounds like how you would pronounce 'embe-a' ... kinda like an hour

should be "a"

ask yourself:

was He-Man a Master of the Universe or an Master of the Universe

It is an MBA .
We put 'an' before a consonant if the pronounciation of the first letter is like a vowel as GMATMBA has correctly pointed out.

By the way I read this in 'Elements of Grammar' -William Strunk ; if I remember correctly. :wink:
