Are these events casual attire? I ask because on some brochure pictures, they seem to dress business attire. Or do they do that only for picture days?

I'd recommend business casual at minimum. You only have 1 chance to make a 1st impression.

I would definitely do a minimum of business casual. You want to make sure the adcom/alumni there know you are serious about the school. Showing up casual kind of gives of a I do not care enough vibe. You can definitely dress up but use business casual as the lowest common denominator
