MBA straight out of MA [#permalink] New post 24 Mar 2005, 23:43
Hi there!

I'm considering applying to a bschool this fall. The thing is I am currently doing an MA in Economics, sort of majoring in Finance (the sort of goes to show that there is no such thing as "major" at the univesity).

I wonder if I have a shot. I'm an international applicant and have two years of full time work experience so I won't be applying totally fresh.

Thanks!

Based on the few bits of information you provided, you would be competitive.

it depends on which BS are you going to apply and whether you need financial support from the school. your gmat matters as well.

i had 6 months of full time and 2 years of part time experience and got accepted to ~30 rank BS... i'm 23 now.

i din't apply however to any top school because my gmat was low (650) and working experience was not completely stellar.
i could have applied to top 20 school, but as an international student i'm afraid to take huge loan.

by the way, i'm also in MS in Economics program now... i'm thinking about whether it is good idea to earn MBA right now or I would be better off lending some job and working for a couple of years, and then applying to top school.

what is your plan?
