Re: MBS questions [#permalink]
Hi,

Having just graduated from MBS (Melbourne Business School) I can highly recommend it. I share a similar background, in that I am also a Canadian CFA Charterholder and had 7 years investment advisory experience when I applied.

The school is highly regarded locally and is by all accounts one of the two best in the country. The program is great. I have met and spoken to a number of MBA's from top schools around the world and am confident that the educational program at MBS is on par with the best out there.

As far as employment prospects go I, and many of my colleagues, have landed jobs with some of the top consulting firms who all come to recruit on campus. Obviously an internship helps but most of the people who were picked up didn't take the internship option.

I can't remember how many firms came to recruit over the last term but all the consulting firms and many of the large commercial and investment banks were also present. An added benefit is that Melbourne is fairly small so it is possible to network your way into a position. The MBS Alumni network is well represented in most of the local firms.

Melbourne is a great city (and they love Canadians down here!)
Hope this helps.

Re: MBS questions [#permalink]
Kaus - Thanks! That is great news to hear. I have been accepted and am just deciding if the move there would work.

If you don't mind, I have a few more questions.

1/ How did you find the visa application process to obtain a student visa?

2/ Was the process complicated to arrange the ability to stay in Aus post-graduation?

3/ Any other advice/experiences that you care to share about your time at MBS would be awesome!

Thanks!!
