More info about your goals would be helpful, since the programs are very different.

Yes. I know Austin is a great city; however, New Haven is close to NY.

I thought Yale SOM and Mccombs are at a different level (especially at the parent universities level)

BW ranks McCombs as a top 20. Yale SOM doesn't make the top 20. And other rankings usually put these two fairly close together. And in my opinion, for the most part, the parent university should be ignored... Ross and Stern are great schools, better than their parent university would indicate. Opposite holds true for Yale and WashU Brandeis.

But I agree Yale SOM and McCombs are at a different level. But perhaps mariafamaral has a full scholarship to McCombs? Or maybe mariafamaral wants to stay in the South or work in energy post-MBA? We really do need more information.

I didn´t get a scholarship in any of them and I want to work in a multinational company in the marketing department. I am leaning towards Yale in my decision but I am still not sure of which one will give me more job opportunities in the future.

Re: McCombs vs Yale [#permalink]
Here's the aggregate rating among all the major rankings, they are fairly similar:

https://poetsandquants.com/2013/12/02/po ... of-2013/3/

Although keep in mind Yale recently made a big jump in USNews (11 I think?), and is colloquially considered top 15, and McCombs isn't.

They make around the same starting salary too:

https://poetsandquants.com/2014/03/13/wh ... schools/3/

That said, Yale attracts students with higher GMAT/GPA's:

https://poetsandquants.com/2013/08/07/th ... verages/2/

Summary: Historically McCombs and Yale have had around the same salaries, with Yale making a bit more than McCombs, especially 3-5 years out, but not significantly more. The average GMAT is 25 higher at Yale, and most people expect Yale to be on the upswing (You see plenty of people picking Yale over a school like Tuck, but you never see someone choose McCombs over Tuck).

With no money, I'd probably choose Yale, unless you want a career/location that McCombs recruits very well for.

Re: McCombs vs Yale [#permalink]
I think what I found to be very interesting when I went to visit Yale for an on campus interview was that a tons of the current students (almost 50% of those I met) went to Harvard/Yale/Other Ivy league/Stanford/MIT for undergrad. I think the students are comparable to top 5-8 schools especially with their GPA and GMAT. Alot of them chose SOM over schools like Kellogg/Tuck/Fuqua. Yale name probably drew them in a lot. You will not see that many of those type of students at school like McCombs.
