Meeting students from GC during visits and other questions [#permalink]

I was just thinking, when someone is visiting some school, they usually post in the school specific thread and request current students (typically river for K, kry for Haas or Rhyme for Booth) whether they have time for a meetup. We usually have more than 1 student admitted to these schools every year. However, it seems like only a small minority are able to continue coming onto GC and helping other prospective students. Based on what I've noticed about this community so far, this probably happens not because the other current students are not interested in helping others, but probably because they are not able to find the time to come onto GC regularly to help others.
I was thinking it might make sense to sticky a thread with a listing of current students who can be PMed by prospectives. I'm not sure if I'll be coming onto GC regularly while in school. I'll certainly log on once in a while and help other students. But, in case of a PM, I'll get the message on my personal e-mail and will be able to respond in a timely manner. This would probably be extremely useful for prospectives who are visiting campuses. If they just PM 4-5 people, they'll probably be able to find someone who doesn't have a conflict at that time and will be able to meet/talk to them.
What do you guys think?

Agree, this a a great idea. I definately would like to give back to the GC community as a student. I would be much more inclined to answer a PM while in school than trying to scour the Kellogg threads looking to answer questions.

Great idea, yellowjacket. What about just keeping the 'where are you going' thread stickied, or putting a list of current students in the first page of each school application thread?

The list of people at those schools is available. However, I think it is far more valuable for people to spend their visit meeting people who have the same career interests. I can't really explain to someone what resources are available for someone wanting to get into a HF other than saying I have friends who got offers from X, Y, and Z. Reaching out to people in the clubs you are interested in will prove to be much more helpful. If you have generic questions anyone can answer those...heck with 3 years worth of threads (2 of which have TONS of posts) the stuff posted on this site provide incredibly valuable information if people take a few minutes and scan them.

However, I do not do profile reviews, don't offer predictions on chances and am far to busy to review essays, so save the energy of writing me a PM seeking help for these. If I don't respond to a PM that is not one of the previously mentioned trash can destined messages, please don't take it personally I get so many messages I have a hard to responding to most. The more interesting, compelling, or humorous you message the more likely I am to respond. Find out what's new at GMAT Club - latest features and updates

Aaudeat made fun of me during my Duke visit, and she didn't even know I was a GC'er!
