MegaTech and UltraCorp are considering a merger to form the MegaUltraTech Corporation. Does MegaTech have more employees than UltraCorp?

(1) The average (arithmetic mean) age of UltraCorp employees is 32.8, while the average age of MegaTech employees is 27.2.

(2) If the merger goes through and all employees from both companies remain employed, the average (arithmetic mean) age of the MegaUltraTech employees will be 31.4.

c. both are sufficient together. Average of two numbers is 30 (32.8+27.2/2). To push the average on the right of 30 the proportion of people in megatech should be more.

IMO answer should be C.

Statement 1: Avg for MegaTech is 27.2 and for UltraCorp is 32.8. Insufficient

Statement 2: The combined average is 31.4. Insufficient.

Combining Both: As the resulting average is less than 32.8, the number of employees of the company with lesser age average should be greater than the one with higher age average.
