MGMAT Timer/Stopwatch [#permalink]

How necessary is this? Does this stopwatch have any features that the timer on my iPhone doesn't have?
Thanks.

Also, when taking the GMAT, do you see a timer on the screen or do you have to rely on the clock in the room?

No, it is not necessary - you can also use the PC version: gmat timerOn the GMAT, you will have access to count down which is enabled by default but you can also turn it off.

thanks. i'm not always going to have a pc with me when i'm studying from books, so is there any difference between the gmat timer that you linked to and the timer that comes with the iphone (free)? how does mgmat justify charging $20 for their stopwatch?

It's not necessary. I just got one recently when I bought some used prep material off someone online and really all the stopwatch does is time you and has the capability of letting you go back and see how long you took for each of the last 30 questions individually. That's pretty much it. Cheers,

I can't add much to what has already been offered by previous comments. But, considering its price, the MGMAT Stopwatch is a frivolous purchase and completely unnecessary. Simply use the GMAT Timer or a regular - and cheaper - stopwatch. There is, though, a bundle deal MGMAT offers that includes the stopwatch and Test Simulation Booklet. The booklet is a very good purchase and a wise investment in you GMAT studies. See the link below for more details: http://www.manhattangmat.com/storeitems ... 45&catid=1Also, see this discussion on the Simulation Booklet: manhattan-gmat-test-simulation-booklet-w-dry-erase-marker-94084.html

During the exam. there is a timer on the screen.
During practice, suggest you to use a timer to track how long you take to choose an answer. This helps you to push yourself in a target time to complete the exam on time and pace it.
