I was just thinking that Michigan wasn't getting enough love around here. I'm in for R2. Everyone applying to Ross R1 & R2 post your stats here and we'll make the thread sticky in a few days.
Good luck.

I'm in for R2.
I ran an interesting admissions411 search on Ross. I filtered their class of 2008 data so that it only gave me US applicants. Then I only looked at applicants with a 700+ score. Close to 50 of the nearly 60 applicants were admitted. Thats pretty amazing.

I submitted my apps for R2 as well, really wanted to go R1 but couldn't finish the essays. Spoke to a lot of students and attended a cafe chat at NYC where 5 students showed up.

Count me in for R2. I do like Michigan a lot and hope they'll like me as much in return.

ah, so i am not alone..
R1ers - i just found an email from Ross in my spam folder. it's dated 1/3. no, not a decision, but an announcement that they will release decisions online at 12:01 AM on 1/15. thought it was spam at first, but it turns out several others have reported the same thing happening to them. the anticipation will ruin me for the entire weekend :/

I also attended the cafe chat. It was awesome. I spent about 1hr with the Ross student to go over my essays after other applicants were gone.
R2
GMAT: 700 (I just could find a time to retake the GMAT)
Under:3.4
Grad: 3.84
6 yrs at Telecom industry.
Strong extracurricular activities and WE per people who reviewed my essays. I rewrote the whole essays a couple weeks before the deadline.
The Ross student told me something very shocking
"Hey, your essays look like my essays two years ago when I got rejection from every single school"
You had better believe it! I trashed my essays and got back to the basics.

What exactly about your essays made him say that?

That's interesting. Did he point out exactly what the problem was?

My jaw dropped for two reasons: (1) it was only 2 weeks before the deadline (2) I was SO glad to find it out from him instead of from an adcom.
He pointed out three things
1. You need to make sure that the readers can picture who you are.
"Ah! I think I know who he or she is.. and what makes him to get up on Sunday morning!" things like that.. I was trying to tell too many things about me, and this was clogging my essays to show clear pic of myself.
2. My first paragraph was not interesting. He said that readers read thousands of essays. My essays did not hold the impatient readers.
3. I was using stupid words in my essays: e.g., I have a
unique experience. and biz cheesy word = synergy.
things like these....

GR8! Now I'm pants pooping on 3 stickies simultaneously!
So, anyone have any idea how long it will take before interview invites get rolling? I've also read that internationals get phone interviews only. Anyone else hear that?
R1ers: have been interviewed? If so, how long after deadline.
Cheers. L.

You know, the Ross essays were the last essays I wrote and it wasn't until I finished that I realized that they are much shorter and make it alot tougher to paint a clear picture of yourself. I had a hard time finding a home for all the things I wanted to say about myself that I was able to write about for other schools. Also, essay 3 was very limiting and I had a hard time writing something that sounded inspiring or impressive.

I resonate your insight. To me, the Ross essays were the most tricky one.
It doesn't really ask your background, and there is not much space to make myself shine.

Good luck, fluff, how did the interview go? Have you shared your interview experience in the board? If not, would you mind sharing it on this post?
Thanks. L.
